비고(Description): 중국의 요녕성과 허베이성에서 발견되는 곤충은 100과 500종 10,000여점이나 된다. 이 환상적이고 다양하며 또한 정교한 곤충화석의 세부는 전세계적으로 유례가 없다. 이 지층의 나이는 일부는 후기쥬라기 또 일부는 전기 백악기의 나이를 가지고 있으므로 같이 표현하는 것이 좋을 것이다. 이 표본은 풀잠자리 화석으로  일부에서는 나비화석으로 잘못 알려지기도 했다. 정확한 종의 구분은 날개의 맥으로 확인할 수 있다. 그러나 다리까지 확실하게 나온 뒷면의 화석은 종을 알 수가 없다.

The Class Insecta is well represented in Liaoning and Hebei Provinces of China, with over 500 species referable to over 100 families based upon over 10,000 specimens. This fantastic diversity and exquisite detail is unprecedented throughout the world. The exact age of the Yixian Formation is still under debate, with some researchers favoring the Early Cretaceous, some the Late Jurassic, and still others the Jurassic/Cretaceous boundary. This example is a fine Lacewing known as Kalligramma liaoningensis. The lacewings derive their common name from their diaphanous wings with delicate venation. Some fossil members of the family have been mistaken for butterflies, and another member of the genus found at Solnhofen was quite large.
